are you worried about the plastic dip flaking off? I was under the impression that's why people powdercoat.

 

I had an M3 before which I did the same thing to the wheels and they lasted about a year without any peeling ( just had to be very careful when I washed). I didn't powder coat these wheels because I really like them and didn't want anything permanent on them. I'll eventually take it off

 

Plasti dip is great. I dont know about using it on wheels though cause of the higher probability of rock chips and it flaking of quicker. But its a good protectant barrier for your wheels.

Im gonna do my kidney grills in plasti dip

 

Yea I'm not looking at keeping them black. Just something different for a couple of months.

Just did my grilles with plastic dip. Looks great all for less than the cost of the can.

Removed the grilles, washed / dried. 2/3 coats of plastic dip and done. A nice flat black finish. No need to spend $60 for black grilles!

 

I've actually gotten many compliments....

 

If they're wearing DC shoes and hoodies, it doesn't count.

 

i would like to do my grilles black, where can i get this plastic dip? is it in a spray can? or is it literally dipped in liquid?

 

Any auto parts store... It's a spray can. Like 6.50 a can

 

No sanding. Just clean and dry.
