Having trouble filling up at SHELL IS this normal?

I recently purchased a CPO. I love the car but when I went to fill up for the first time at the Shell gas station it was very difficult to fit the gas nozzle in the hole also taking it out it got stuck. I attached a picture showing mine. Maybe the flapper valve or spring check valve is damaged? Could you please check yours and see? Let me know if I should take this issue to the dealer.

Later I went to a local gas station (WAWA) and had no problem filling up.

THANKS I LOVE MY BIMMER!!

A little Labor Day levity!

Seriously, my pump doesn't fit in all the way either, but no gas drips out, so it doesn't bother me. I do remember when the pump would go all the way in. These new ones don't. I use Shell too. They don't go all the way in. DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT IN!

Shell 93 Octane is da joint!

i use shell v93 exclusively. Never had a problem at any station I've used. Something is wrong with your gas intake.

Yep, yours looks damaged. It should be flush and not have that gap you have on the left side.

Looks like someone jammed a bottle of something in there, maybe an injector cleaner. I've seen some strange shapes for those bottles, especially the STP branded ones that are tapered; could have easily gotten stuck and caused the damage.

Looks damaged to me. I'll take a picture of what mine looks like over lunch but I am certain mine sits flush. Yours looks bent. :dunno:

Who knows what could have been jammed in there? Anything goes today. Weird, strange society. :dunno:

Here are a couple shots of mine which is less than 2 months old. Looks like yours is damaged... sorry.

Meh... I know you're upset and put out by having to get it fixed (your time is valuable). But really, all the stuff they probably check as part of a CPO, I can imagine how something like the gas filler flap is not on their list. Be happy they're fixing it for you and didn't try to blame you for the damage and decide not to cover it under the CPO warranty. I think you got a good result and you should be happy with that.

Enjoy the car.
