Can't seem to find the right cable

Hello!
Recently my CD changer stopped working, so I've been looking in on getting a DICE Mediabridge for my E38.

The problem is that i can't seem to find the 6-pin connector in the trunk. When i pulled the CD changer out of the car, the only thing connected to it was the 3-pin connector.

Why is that? Do some cars just have the 3-pin connector? I can see that i have a hole for the 6-pin connector on my CD changer, but when i tore apart everything back there, it was nowhere to be found.

I know what the 6-pin connector looks like, and i know that the CD changer has a hole for it on the back. I just can't seem to figure out how the CD changer worked when i bought the car with only the 3-pin.
And why my car doesn't have a 6-pin connector

I disconnected everything and took it out of the trunk, so only the cables were left in there. Anyone know where the 6-pin connector might be hiding?

About the DICE mediabridge; The ones I've been looking at on ebay, clearly needs the 6-pin connector to work.

EDIT: Okay, I have now checked around the internet, and it seems like my car has DSP (Digital Sound Processing).
Anyways, it doesn't add up when cars with DSP still have more than just the 3-pin connector. Instead of the 6-pin connector, it looks like cars with DSP have a coax cable. Does anyone know how that one looks like?
Can't seem to find anything like that in my trunk?

Help us help you alittle better...you have no model year/build date info. The e38 used 2 different kind of CD changers. The earlier ones were only M-bus compatible and the front says BMW 6 Disc CD Changer P written twice onthe door where the CD magazine is inserted. The later ones cmmunicated over the I bus and say the same thing but there's an I" after the P.....and the writing on the door is only one side.

To the OP...as mentioned in post #6...please identify your model year...or give us info about WHICH CD changer you have. The earlier ones with the double writing on the door looks like this on the front and back:

...and the latter changers only have a single line of writing on the front door...and the hook-ups in the back are different:
