Adding wood trim to match factory wood--

We got dark ash in our '07--has anyone found a place that sells matching additional pieces to match the dark ash--I want to cover the heater/radio and vent black plastic with matching wood--or, how do you think brushed alum would look?? The center section in black plastic really looks cheap compared to the rest of the interior. Would also like to cover the nav cover and surround.

It's gonna be difficult to avoid a "slap on aftermarket" look on the X3 because of the way the center dash is shaped. Note in the pic above, that there's still that crevice between the vents and audio unit, and the gap in the curve from the passenger side dash and the audio/climate plate. In both cases, the black plastic still shows.

Brushed alum would look good. No covers for Nav(I Think) Companies will send you samples on request. Might cost $5.00 for 3 or 4 pieces.
When you buy these kits they tell you the are returnable if you do not seperate the pieces.
Returning is a nightmare and there is a restocking fee.

I think I will send for samples of the dark burl and bright aluminum---If the Alum is close to the shifter and door handels then I think that would look good around radio and heat vents--No one has a kit that surrounds the radio on a model with nav..!!
I remember some one saying how east it is to snap off the plastic dash faces--this would make it easier to line up the kit pieces on a bench by slipping some guide pieces through the button holes from the back. I found that once this stuff touches the surface it is stuck for goood.
